You gotta like this…

Malzahn is already reaching out to Highschool coaches.  I hope this continues.

One of my concerns was Malzahn’s inability to talk to reporters. He didn’t inspire and his charisma seemed to be lacking for me.   Oh, you could actually hear him… he didn’t whisper like a church mouse. And he was intelligent.  But he just didn’t seem to create a buzz.

Maybe that has changed. Maybe there was more of rift between Chizik and his coordinators than originally believed? Chizik liked to control everything that was said (or not said) at AU. A distinct trait of Tommy T.

Anyway… I thought this development…  a day after his hire was pretty significant.

Honestly I have to say I am surprised at his charisma. I never saw him as the fired up type outside the sidelines. I mean he is not an entertainer, but he isn’t the boring accountant professor I thought we were getting either. He is making the right move here obviously. I don’t think this guy is going to be outworked in any area of the head coaching job. Full throttle on as many fronts as he possibly can… just like on the field.
