Which would you rather have?

Interesting argument over on espn.com today involving Auburn and VA Tech. Would you rather always be good like VA Tech, or would you like to have ups and downs and get a Championship every 50 years like AU? I voted for Championships.

As a native Atlantan I can say most definitely that ups and downs with the occasional Championship is much more preferable that being consistently good… but not good enough to win a championship. I love the Braves but boy is it frustrating watch them choke every time they get to the playoffs. The Falcons are pretty much the same. I can put up with a few losing seasons as long as the payoff is a championship every now and then.
50 years is a little too long to wait though, I’d prefer once a decade or better. With 3 perfect seasons in the last 20 years we should be able to get another championship or two in the same time period with the new playoff system in place.

I prefer the ups and downs rather than Va Tech type success. For the record, Auburn should have been awarded more than 2 national championships in the past 50 yrs and at least one more prior to the past 50 years. In other words, a little more Va Tech type consistency sure would improve the voters perception of Auburn.

If we moved to the ACC or Big 12 that wouldn’t be difficult at all.

If we could have the success of Va Tech in our league, we would win the natty more than once a decade.
