Wax the Wildcats! (Auburn vs. Kentucky, Elite Eight Open Thread)
Tigers face a monumental challenge against the toughest team in college basketball today
(Orlin Wagner/Associated Press)
War Eagle, everybody! For just the second time in Auburn history, Auburn will play a 4th game in the NCAA basketball tournament. Auburn will face the Kentucky Wildcats for the 3rd time this season in Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The winner goes on to the Final Four.
Kentucky is a very long and physical team, and Auburn has already faced them twice in SEC play. It went down to the wire in Auburn. Later in Lexington in February, Auburn took a beating. That loss in February is the last time Auburn lost a basketball game. Auburn will face Kentucky without its most versatile player, Chuma Okeke, who injured a knee in the late going against North Carolina.
This game tips off at 1:20 PM, Central Daylight Time in Kansas City. It will be televised on CBS. If you have to stream it, your best bet is March Madness Live. I will be here, running an open thread. This will not be a strict play-by-play as there is no way I can type as fast as Auburn runs its offense! I will more be exclaiming on big plays, relating the score, and doing color commentary. War Eagle, and let’s beat Big Blue!
