Vanquish the Red Wolves!
Auburn vs. Arkansas State, Open Thread.
War Eagle, everybody! It’s Auburn football game day once again! Tonight, the Auburn Tigers will host the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Jordan Hare Stadium at 6:30 PM, Central Time. This game will be televised on FSN, so check your local listings.
The Red Wolves come into Auburn with a 1-0 record, having smashed Arkansas Pine-Bluff last weekend, 62-11. Arkansas State had 4 different running backs eclipse 100 yards rushing, but that is a deceptive stat. It turns out that Arkansas Pine-Bluff had as many as 12 starters suspended for the game, and only dressed about 40 players. Auburn will have more than twice that number available for this game.
The Auburn Tigers started shakily last weekend in their Gus Malzhan debut against Washington State, but found a bit of a groove in the second half of the game in a 31-24 win. Auburn fans are hoping for a more polished product tonight, with a week to correct errors.
This will be another muggy game in the Deep South, most likely. The typical Alabama dry season has set in, here in the waning days of the summer of 2013. It will be still warm at kickoff, around 85 degrees, with virtually no chance of rain. The temperature will fall into the mid 70s by game’s end.
As always, feel free to participate in this thread. We’ll be in during the day at times. However, I will not be doing my usual play-by-play, although I may make a short comment here and there, as I’ll be away from home and confined to a small tablet. Let’s all cheer our Tigers on to victory in this one! War Eagle!
