Turn the Tide! (Auburn vs Alabama Open Thread)

By on November 30th, 2019 in Football 2 Comments »

It is Iron Bowl time once again!

War Eagle, everybody! This afternoon Auburn will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in the annual Iron Bowl matchup. Pundits will make playoff speculation the lead caption on this game, but the real truth is 365 days of bragging rights in this state. There is no more important game for Tide and Tiger fans!

This game will kick off at 2:30 PM, Central Time and will be nationally televised on CBS. It will be played under increasingly cloudy skies, with temperatures in the upper 60’s. There is little chance for rain till hours after this one is over.

Since Pat Dye became the Auburn head coach, and was instrumental to moving Auburn’s home games against Alabama to Auburn, the Tigers are 19–18 vs. Alabama. A win by the Tigers today would open up a 2-game lead in the series since that fateful hiring. As to the playoff talk, my personal belief is that teams that don’t win their division should not be considered ahead of conference champions, but I’m not on the committee.

As always, feel free to join in and participate in this thread. I will be at the keyboard for a full play by play and will keep watch on all of the SEC today on rivalry Saturday. War Eagle!

  2. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Sorry, jonno! I thought I had commented last night, but we’ve had some issues with throw-away posts. Congrats to you, for the most bad-ass LSU team I’ve ever seen, and champions of the West! Tore Texas Aggie up, I must say! I will be ticked if this one gets censored….
