Tuberville Spends Memorial Day Weekend in the Middle East

By on May 24th, 2008 in Football Comments Off

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville continues to make his way through the Middle East visiting with U.S. troops. The 10 day trip is sponsored by Under Armour and includes Georgia coach Mark Richt, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis, Miami head man Randy Shannon and Yale coach Jack Siedlecki.

We’re having a great trip,” Tuberville said. “We’re very encouraged by the enthusiasm of all the troops fighting for us. I’ve had the opportunity to shake hands with probably 2,000 men and women in uniform during the last two days from a lot of different areas and units. We spent a lot of time Thursday with troops on 2-3 days of rest and relaxation from Iraq, Somalia, and Afghanistan.”

I can’t imagine making a trip like this. It has to be simply awesome. I’d also like to be a fly on the wall when these guys talk football. Below are a few pictures taken by the University photographer.
