Tre Mason keeps adding awards to his trophy case. The SEC’s leading rusher was named an All-American by USA-Today Wednesday.

Since the SEC Championship game Mason has been named  All-SEC as well as the SEC’s Offensive Player of the Year by both the  Coaches and the Associated Press. He was also named as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.

The Auburn junior leads the SEC in rushing yards with 1,621, in touchdowns  with 23, and in rushing with a 124.7 yard per game average. In addition, he set two SEC Championship Game records against Missouri by running for 304 yards and scoring four touchdowns.

Update (12-13-13) Mason was also named All-American today by the Sporting News and Athlon Sports.

Congrats to Tre. Greg Robinson needs to be on somebody’s list too.

I just cannot fathom Saban leaving AL unless he either returns to the pro ranks or retires. He has no need at all to jump to Texas unless, of course, he simply just “wants” to be there. And does he really leave Bama having just lost to AU and leave on a “down” note?
