The Duf is moving on up
On a day when Augusta National chewed up and spit out almost everyone in the field, Jason had one of only 4 sub 70 rounds. Despite 4 bogeys had had 7 birdies to card a 3 under 69. He is only 3 behind leader Jason Day with 36 holes of golf left. He improved his position by a whopping 26 spots.
It was a perfect kind of day for the Duf to make up shots. Gusting winds that changed direction every few minutes made the course the toughest it has been in a long time. Jasons ability to outthink the conditions and the course served him well.
While the 4 bogeys were a downer there was only one other player that had as many birdies, Bubba Watson, but he threw in 6 boyeys and a double to shoot 73. That in itself makes me believe that he is ready to make a big run on Saturday. Saturday is called “moving day” on the tour so look for the Duf to move to the penthouse of the leader board with a 66 or 67.
I read several articles on the tourney this morning and his name was not mentioned in any of them. Mark my words, that will change today.
