So, Who’s Going to Atlanta?!?

By on December 3rd, 2013 in Member Post 9 Comments »

War Eagle, everybody!

Well, I was at work again during the Iron Bowl, but thank God we have a cable TV, and I made a complete fool out of myself. I work with the mentally handicapped, and had to spend 15 minutes convincing them that I was ok, and that I was not having a “behavior.” Anyway, my brother calls me up from camping with his family and our parents at Stone Mountain after seeing my delerious facebook posts to congratulate me on the win.

One of my posts said “So, anyone have tickets to the Championship game?” He says, “well, you couldn’t get off for something like that, could you?” I say “for something like that? Hell yes!” We exchange a few more pleasantries, hang up, and I think no more about it.

A few minutes later, I’m doing end of the month paperwork and my phone rings again. It’s my brother again. This time he has me on speaker. He says “check your email.” I open an email labled “Merry Christmas.” And there it is: a confirmation for two tickets to the SEC Championship game. Section 114, Row 22, seats 17 & 18 on the lower level, 35-40 yardline, on the Auburn side. I’m speechless for a minute, then babble thank you’s to the group for a few minutes, then hang up and scream. I then have to calm down the residents again.

So my question is this: who’s goin’? I’d love to meet some of you knuckleheads. Get a pic, whatever. I’m driving over in the morning, parking on the perimeter, and taking MARTA in. Just let me know.

Also, I posted a little friendly greeting on Mizzou’s SB Nation page. Apparently my login carried over to College & Magnolia after we left.

I’m not going as I already have other plans with tickets because I never saw this coming. That being said ~ I don’t want to jinx it because we couldn’t get tickets last time but was able to go the National Championship game so I want to keep the streak alive and head to Pasadena!!

…..I’m hoping. I’m off this week, and if I could get in there with my dinky camera… It’s playing with house money, folks! We’re going to take it to Mizzou… I can feel it!

Where on the Perimeter and what time? I live about 3 miles from the Brookhaven MARTA or the Chamblee station, both of which have lots of free parking and are convenient to both 85 and 285. Share the feeling about meeting some of you in person.Game is at 4:00 p.m. Atlanta time, there’s a sports bar across the street from the Brookhaven station. Maybe a meet and greet starting around 11:30??

Still not sure who is going with me, so I don’t know which way I’ll be coming in from or what time.

The better half and I are in Marietta and we are heading down for the Alumni party on Friday night which is open to anyone who wojld like to attend. There is a $15 per person entry fee ( $20 at the door ) so would like for anyone to join us who is willing.

    War Damn!!

I work in Sandy Springs, so I thought I would go to that party too (gonna take MARTA downtown). We’ll figure out how to ID each other and say hello! MVH

      • ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

I work in Sandy Springs also in Embassy Row off of Peachtree Dunwoody.

        • mvhcpa says:

I m going to that party. I will be in a blue short-sleve AU polo over a long-sleve orange t-shirt and an Auburn cap (that might not narrow it down much)–let me know if you and your mrs will be dressed distinctively, and we’ll try to say hi!

Any other TETers coming? If so, let us know!

I’m going but will probably be there just in time just for the game.
