Ricardo Louis Named Paul Hornung Honor Roll Player of the Week
“I told them give me the ball, I’m going to make a play.” That’s what Auburn Wide Receiver Ricardo Louis told quarterback Nick Marshall in the huddle Saturday when the Tigers were down by one point to Georgia and facing a 4th and 18 with time running out. And make a play he did. Scoring on a 73 yard tip pass to help give the Tigers the victory over ancient foe Georgia.
Today Louis was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll after his epic play. The annual award goes to the most versatile player in college football. Ricardo played on the punt and kickoff coverage teams that did not give up any yards to the Bulldogs. And he finished the game with 197 all purpose yards. He had 4 catches for 131 yards and five carries for 66 yards. The season’s overall Hornung winner will be honored Jan. 28 in Louisville, Kentucky.
