Join us for National Signing Day 2016

By on February 1st, 2016 in Football 2 Comments »

Okay, so we’ve watched, read, and analyzed what various recruits may do come Wednesday which is, of course, National Signing Day.

Those of us here at Track ‘Em Tigers want to provide our readers with as much information as possible as relates to recruits choosing their university, and to that extent, we will be providing a primer to National Signing Day on Tuesday and will follow up with a live open thread starting Wednesday morning at 6:00 AM CST.

Please join us right here as we bring you the most up-to-date information possible…

The “dead period” is now in effect (as of midnight Sunday) so all the sales pitches are done, the official on-campus visits are over, coaches making trips to the living rooms of recruits and their families have completed and it’s now time to “reap what you have sown”

And this, we will learn on Wednesday or in some cases afterwards.

Track ‘Em Tigers will have the primer posted on Tuesday with the open thread going live at 6:00 AM CT on Wednesday morning.

Let’s hope for a recruiting class that makes Auburn proud and fills gaps on both the offense and defense.

Please join me for what may be an exciting National Signing Day.

Win, lose, or draw, it’s still GREAT TO BE AN AUBURN TIGER!

Looking forward to checking in with you on the thread Wednesday.

And, already there are changes being made. Earlier today, DB Daniel Thomas was informed by Auburn that no more scholarships were available. Thomas visited the Plains this past weekend and, according to reports, was hoping for a scholarship offer. This didn’t happen.

Subsequent to those events, however, DT Rashan Gary, listed as the nation’s Number 1 recruit by most, made an announcement that neither Auburn or Alabama will be his school of choice. (He currently lists Clemson and Michigan as his two finalists.)

So, did Auburn actually offer Gary a scholarship and, if so, does this recent development mean that a scholarship is now available to offer Thomas. If so, does this mean Auburn will actually offer the defensive back? Does the fact that Auburn had, at the time, no scholarship to offer mean that Thomas looks elsewhere regardless? Keep in mind that Thomas is already considering Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

By all accounts, Thomas has “what it takes” and is “extremely adept” at adjusting to various defensive schemes.

We will be here all day Wednesday and, by the end of the day, some of these questions will be answered.

War Eagle and join us on the live thread Wednesday!!
