Last Minute Auburn Christmas Ideas

By on December 18th, 2012 in Football 8 Comments »

If you’re like me, the Christmas shopping season is still a few days away. Why rush things? Right? If you have an Auburn person on your list, you’ve come to the right place.

Below I’ve come up with 10 perfect Auburn gifts for the last minute shopper in all price ranges. Please note: I have not been compensated by any of the merchants below…

True Blue Spirit Club Membership (Tiger Rags) – My in-laws have purchased this for me annually for the last 10 years and I love it. This year, the program changes for the better. For $59.95 you receive any six t-shirts up to $15.99 each. If you go over the limit, you simply pay the difference. You can pick your shirts at anytime throughout the year and they are not limited to gameday t-shirts any longer.  The membership also entitles you to 20% off all purchases during the year, plus an invitation to the year-end 50% off sale in early December.

Amazin’s 1972 Print by Scott M. Brannan – Brannan is one of the top new Auburn artists in the community. I met Scott earlier this year and was impressed with his work. His Amazin’s print, highlighting the historic 1972 season is the best I’ve seen. He also has several other Auburn pieces that are worth considering. The 18X24 print is priced at $100.

Auburn Colored Rolex Air King Watch – For those that wipe their bottom sides with $10 bills, this Auburn colored Rolex watch hits the spot. The picture does it no justice. Trust me, it’s awesome. It’s available online and at Ware’s Jewelry in Auburn starting at $4,500.

A Gallon of Toomer’s Lemonade and a Turvis Tumbler – If you live close enough to Auburn, why not drop into Toomer’s and pick up a gallon of their world famous lemonade and a Toomer’s themed Turvis tumbler to go with it. Look away when the cashier rings you up. At $14.95 a gallon, it’s highway robbery. The tumbler will cost you another $20. Despite the ridiculous cost, it’s a pretty cool gift.

Get on the Gus Bus T-Shirt – This long-sleeve blue t-shirt from Tiger Rags is a cool way to welcome Coach Malzahn to Auburn. These are flying off the shelves as quick as they can print them. Adult sizes are $22.99.

Hunting with Pat Dye – Auburn’s former legendary coach now operates a hunting lodge where you can spend a morning or afternoon with him knocking quail out of the sky and talking about the glory days. Packages start at $400 for a half day.

Cam Newton Bobble Head – What is Christmas these days without a little Cam Newton bling? These bobble heads offered by look great. I saw one over the weekend and was impressed. They are available online for $24.95.

defining momentsDefining Moments Auburn – This three DVD disk set takes an in-depth look at the 1972, 1982 and 2010 seasons. I’ve had it for several months and love it. If you are an Auburn fan, this is a must have gift. It’s heavy on Bo Jackson and Cam Newton and chronicles the 1972 Amazin’s run. It can found on Amazon for $14.99.

Auburn Igloo Cooler – This massive 60 quart cooler can hold up to 90 12 oz cans of your favorite beverage. It’s well built and the orange and blue colors look great with the logo. It can be found at Amazon and other stores around the South for $49.99.

Auburn Basketball Pick Four Tickets – Sure the basketball team is horrible this season (and most seasons), but what else is there to do on a cold Saturday in January? You can purchase a Four Pack of Auburn tickets for $75. The plan includes your choice of the Alabama, Kentucky or Florida games, plus three more.

Gifts like these are great. IMO, T shirts fade, lemonade is consumed, prints get hung and later ignored. The memory of a hunt with Dye lives as long as you do. I will see you in Feb. Jay.

During our Southern Tour last summer, we popped into Oxford. We ate at this cool chicken shack place…on the wall there were several pictures of Pat Dye and Don Neyland on a hunting trips (I’m assuming they were hunting; they had shotguns, were walking down a dirt road and looked genuinely happy)…..

I LOVE the ‘GusBus’ tee….also, the is pretty sweet, even though I’m a girl and I hoard $10 bills…..

    • Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

……I’ve never had a watch last a month, if it doesn’t say “Timex” on it. And the new ones are plastic under fake chrome. If I got a Rolex, it would have to go in a case somewhere.

My watch is a stainless steel Swiss Army…it was one of the first presents that my husband gave me when we were dating…working in an outdoor store, he got mad deals on such things…he was also sick of seeing my velcro watch band and thought I was a little ‘old’ to have a digital watch…whatevs, I’m a scientist whose timer is not always hanging from my belt loop…..9 years later, my watch has stood up to my abuse. Like you, if I had a fine piece of ‘jewelry’, I wouldn’t know what to do with it…..

        Happy Holidays, Acid.

I was given an Auburn themed house key the other day that I thought was a really cool gift. Their pretty cheap, I think you can get one at Lowes for $5 or so. Great stocking stuffer.

FYI, TE Arshad Jackson has officially de-commited from AU today.

I purchased Scott Brannen’s print of the ’72 Amazin’s and was able to get it signed while they were at the reunion game this year! It is awesome!
I have also purchased the Traditions that he drew for the contest (that he won!) and it is great in person. We actually know each other from an Auburn message board (old Habotn) and he is a great Auburn man to support!!
