Justification for an immediate and decisive coaching change decision, UNLESS AU is not going to make the change.

Obviously, the Auburn football program is at crossroads. Question is, how much is it going to cost the University to make the change?

Short term cost 7.5m for Chiz, and roughly another 3-4m depending on buy out clauses for other coaches. How does this weigh out against the loss in revenue current and future, as well as the loss in recruiting due to the current lack of certainty in a coaching staff that will no doubt go through profound changes for the second straight year.

Why would anyone commit to Auburn when the only certainty with the program right now is that there is NO CERTAINTY. Bottom line is that SEC football generates revenue for the schools based on the players winning…for example Cam Newton…but you cannot get players to commit unless you have 1- CONTINUITY 2 – CREDIBILITY 3 -CLARITY OF MISSION/ GAMEPLAN BOTH OFFENSE AND DEFENSE The current environment indicates NO continuity- significant coaching changes are going to take place sometime in the near future.

NO credibility because of an indecisive adminstration putimg the short term buyout cost over the devastating long term effects in recruting not to mention the damage to the legacy of the program.

NO clarity in the game plan for future success since the current personnel have no plan, and no one knows who will come in with a new path /strategy for success.

WHY DECIDE IMMEDIATELY: Indecision will only cause more damage, loss in revenue, and greater negative impact on recruting. Why would any recruit right now not be having second thoughts on going to a school knowing that the coaches at the school who recruited him and the style of offense and defense which was presented to him were certainly going to change….who is going to be the new coach…..what is the offense and defense they are going to run, who are the other coaches on the staff….the list goes on and on.

By not making a decision and being indecisive, the cost is great over the short term and the long term…..both in revenue and in legacy. Make the decision now, empower the new coach coming in, enable the players and recruits the chance to know who they are going to be playing for, what offense and defense they will be running– thus providing credibility to the staff and the program moving forward and provide some sense of stability to the historic program which is now on the ropes.

WHEN WE ARE 3RD AND SHORT AND LOOKING TO KEEP THE DRIVE ALIVE, THE LAST THING WE WANT OR NEED IS A DELAY OF GAME PENALTY PUTTING US BACK 5 BECAUSE NO ONE COULD MAKE THE CALL. (Sorry for the spelling and typos…on the samsung pad)

I see a very impassioned statement being made here, and I feel your angst.
