ESPN reported yesterday that Jason Campbell will get the nod at QB for the 3-4 Browns. He was run out on a rail from Washington, and then lost his job with the Raiders after starting 4-2 when he was hurt and they signed Carson Palmer.

In my humble opinion, Jason has never really been given a shot, much the same way as former Auburn quarterback Dameyune Craig, who was Chris Wienke’s backup in Carolina. I wish him all the success in the world. It’ll be hard for me to root for the Browns (Go Steelers), but I’ll definitely be pulling for JC, one of my favorite all-time AU players.

Coach Rob Chudzinski said he’s making the move to do what’s best for the Brown’s. “I think looking at Jason, the things he brings to the table – his leadership, his experience,” Chudzinski said. “He’s been productive and successful in the league. Look at his arm strength, his mobility and those things, (they) tie in from a game-plan standpoint for what we need in this game.”

I hope Jason gets the shot he deserves. I think he’s at his best in strong play action offense.

This is very exciting, but I’m nervous for him. They’re playing the undefeated Chiefs (no that was NOT a typo–they really are undefeated), and it will be really hard to surmount that. However, the Browns were better earlier in the season until their starting QB got hurt. For some unknown reason, they skipped over JC to start Brandon-I-Stare-Down-My-Recievers-Even-In-The-NFL-Weeden. Unbelievable. That’s why the Browns can’t have nice things.

I wish JC a great game and for the Chiefs to have an uncharacteristically bad game.
