The infamous tree poisoner, “Al from Dadeville.”

Harvey Almorn Updyke, the man who confessed to trying to kill Auburn University’s landmark Toomer’s Corner Oak trees has given an interview to ESPN.com’s Wright Thompson.

He had some interesting things to say to Thompson. For one he denies being the man that poisoned Auburn’s legendary Toomer’s Oaks. In addition he says that his feelings were hurt when he learned that Nick Saban donated to a fund to save the trees, and … that his troubles with the law are Auburn’s fault.

This is recommended reading. It’s a long expose’ but worth the time. Thompson titled his piece  ” The Life and Times of Harvey Updyke.” You can access the entire article at ESPN.
