Gus at SEC Media Days – the highlights…

By on July 13th, 2015 in Football 3 Comments »

Gus Malzahn just stepped off the podium at SEC Media Days. Questions from the press included Muschamp (of course), Carl Lawson, the stable of RBs, Harbaugh’s football camps, the toughness of the SEC West, and that BIG Scoreboard screen in the stadium.

Muschamp is bringing a good work ethic and is passionate (as we all know). Malzahn mentions that the current coaching staff can measure up to any in the country.

Carl Lawson being back is tremendous as a pass rusher that we seriously lacked last year.

No starter, or ‘work horse’ as Malzahn put it, has been selected. The RBs in place all have the ability to help as Malzahn has utilized multiple backs in his system anyway. Roc was the highlight of the talk, but he’s got some great help this year.

Malzahn said that chances of any coach from the North coming down into our territory and signing players to play up North are “slim to none.” The SEC West is just a grind as the “toughest conference in the country.”

The score board is “Big!”. The team will practice in the fall with the new video screen on so that the first home game it does not become a shock or nuisance for the players.

War Eagle folks! Another big season is just ahead.  Enjoy!!
