Darn Good Road Trip For The Men’s Hoopsters

By on December 23rd, 2016 in Member Post 5 Comments »

One could argue that OK and UCONN are having a down year, but you don’t go into UCONN’s arena and run rough-shod over the Huskies.  Proud of our guys coming through in OT to pull off the victory.  This will set the foundation for an arduous SEC slate.   Most of our bigger games vs the SEC are road-games.  Playing hoops in the SEC is a gauntlet of sorts so if we can break even and make a show in the conference tourney, we may well end up getting a tourney invite come March 2017…and I’m not talking about NIT.

War Eagle and Merry Christmas to ALL.!!!

You are correct – Heading into conference play at 10-2 isn’t at a bad spot to be in. Let’s hope Pearl has the team ready to beat up on the puppies to start SEC play.

…..What concerns me over the past few games is low shooting percentage from the floor. Auburn is hanging into the game on an occasional three pointer and a good number of steals. What happens late is the other team starts losing guys to foul trouble, and Auburn wins at the line, or against a depleted lineup.

  3. ……I got surprised, yesterday on this game! We were having our family Christmas dinner last night, because it was the only time everyone could do it. I figured I would miss seeing the game, for that reason.

……I’m the primary cook for these things, now. I got ready to start prepping things around 1:30 yesterday afternoon, and turned on the kitchen TV, just to see what bowl games and whatnot might be on. Low and behold, Auburn was on TV! The game was an afternoon tip, and I had not paid attention… I got to see most of it, although not with rapt attention all the time.

…..A winning SEC record, and Auburn is likely in the NCAA field. A 10-8 SEC record would put Auburn at 20-10. NCAA bubble, and certainly good enough for the NIT. Unless a horrible tank job happens, Auburn should finish this season with a winning record.

Been great to get back to Auburn Basketball. Used to listen many years ago but just a recently found my way back and really enjoy the Calls of the Voice of the Auburn Tiger and Coach Sonny. Really am enjoying the excitement and the journey as opposed to a really confusing Football Season. Love Auburn always and always War Eagle and I sure am enjoying what is currently taking place with the Basketball part of Auburn. Take Care All!

Have a great New Year and looking forward to a hopefully Good Start to SEC Play.
