Question from Cougar Fans in Auburn

By on August 25th, 2013 in Member Post 5 Comments »

My son and I are coming in to Auburn for our home opener and are looking forward to the SEC experience.

What are the 3 or 4 things we need to see or do (besides watching a good football game) while we’re are in War Eagle country?  Thanks

Buy a Toomer’s Drugstore lemonade. If you can find Momma Goldberg’s and have the time, order a sandwich. Walk from either location to the stadium and see one of the nicest campuses in the South. Receive a courteous greeting from every Auburn fan you meet, and stop by any of the tailgating areas if you’re still hungry (and just TRY to avoid being well fed before you enter).

Be sure to enter the stadium in time to see the eagle fly. It is one of the most inspiring moments in all of college football.

We pride ourselves on hospitality and making everyone feel welcome. Enjoy.

If you have time, attend Tiger Walk (the pregame walk of the players into the stadium) on the south side of Jordan-Hare. You will have to be there at least 2 hours before kickoff (2 1/2 hours before kickoff to experience the band and cheer leaders leading a pep rally).

After Tiger Walk, enter the stadium and find your seats to be sure you don’t miss the band taking the field and the flight of the Eagle! Hope you enjoy your visit to The Plains.

Serioulsy, don’t be late to your seat to miss the eagle fly. It is the most awe inspiring experience of any college football venue.

War Eagle! Hope that you have a great time!

Make sure you hit Moma Goldberg’s and Toomer’s Corner and get some lemonade there. I wish you could’ve seen the whole rolling the tree ceremony too but things happen. Make sure you see the Eagle land on the 50yd line. This time with all that happened in 2012 to this team, you’re going to witness and experience one of most powerful things you’ll ever see. The Tiger Walk is a whole lot of and make sure to go by the different tailgates all over town. The campus is gorgeous and the scenery is incredible…and the buildings and trees are pretty too. Sorry, I get a little carried away talking about the ladies of Auburn. Wow, just wow. Well, you’ll see what I’m talking about soon enough I think.
