College Football TV Broadcast Schedule for Rivalry Weekend—Nov. 24–25, 2017

Iron Bowl 2013_thumb[6]-Rock JHS

There’s a lot of football on tap during the Thanksgiving holidays. It’s “Rivalry Weekend” for college football. Two rivals met Thursday night in Starkville as Ole Miss upset No. 14 Mississippi State 31-28  in the Egg Bowl.

Of course the nation’s biggest rivalry will take place at 2:30 CT Saturday when No. 6 Auburn hosts No. 1 Alabama in the annual Iron Bowl at 2:30 CT in the CBS Game of the Week. The winner will be the SEC Western Division Champion and will advance to Atlanta to play East Division Champion Georgia for the overall league championship next week.

The best thing about Rivalry Weekend coming at Thanksgiving is the fact college football  fans have two full days to watch games instead of one. With that in mind we have listed a TV viewing guide for the 68 games that will be broadcast on Friday and Saturday.

The game times are Central, and all SEC games as well as those involving top 25 teams are underlined. Games on ESPN/ABC can be viewed by clicking here, and games on ESPN3 can be viewed by clicking on this link.

Acid Reign will have his open thread up early Saturday morning. So be sure to check back here and join in the discussion as he does his play by play of the game as it unfolds. War Eagle and

Beat Bama!

The “U” at Pitt is a good game right now. The way Pitt is able to move the ball against Miami while playing good defense is working in Auburn’s favor.

  2. dyingculture dyingculture says:

al.com has a fascinating analysis of the Iron Bowl posted right now. For example, did you know that if Auburn gets a lot of first downs and wins the turnover battle, Auburn has an excellent chance to win? Al.com goes so far as to say that Auburn will be “almost unstoppable” if they can do those two things.

  3. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Pitt steadily improved this season, and coupled with your usual Mark Richt letdown game. Pitt wins, 24-14. Another domino ahead of Auburn falls!

  4. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..We really could have used some help from Baylor today, but that was asking for too much. TCU whacked the hapless Bears, 45-22. TCU stands at 10-2.

  5. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..TCU and Oklahoma will play in the newly resumed Big-12 Championship Game, in the Jerry Dome in Arlington, Texas, next weekend. Both teams have 2 losses, and their playoff hopes are hanging by a thread.

  6. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Correction, Oklahoma only has one loss.

  7. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Arkansas is just a different team, with Austin Allen in at QB.

  8. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..More looking ahead… South Florida was way behind, but have now tied Central Florida 21-all. UCF is undefeated this year, and Auburn needs them to lose!

  9. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..The Mizzou-Arky game has been entertaining. These teams don’t have much to play for, but they have been really going at it. I’ve seen some serious cheap shots on both sides, too.

  10. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Missouri leads 31-28, with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd.

  11. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

Arky not giving up — nice move there at the end for the score

  12. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..MIssouri is trying to milk the clock out, and go for a winning FG or TD. Tied up at 45-all, with only seconds remaining. 2nd and goal at the 4.

  13. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..I would NOT want to leave Austin Allen any time on the clock.

  14. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..It’s fourth down and Mizzou calls time with nine seconds left. Chip shot field goal attempt coming.

  15. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

    …..McCann from 19 yards.

  16. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Good, and there are five seconds left. Mizzou 48, Arky 45.

  17. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..75 yards, one play, and hope for an interfernce.

  18. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..And… nope. Missouri wins, and goes to 7-5, after a 2-5 start. Arkansas falls to 4-8, and this will be likely Bret Bielema’s last game in Fayetteville.

  19. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

UCF down 34-28 with 8:00 left in the game…

  20. KungFuPanda9 KungFuPanda9 says:

Ole Buddy Bert has been fired.

  21. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

And Bret B. has been fired at Arky…

  22. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

And UCF wrapping this one up — 42-34 with just over 2:00 left in the game.

  23. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

OMG!! What a pass and catch for S. FL!!!

  24. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

And that 2-point conversion? Oh my gosh…

  25. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..That was quick, on Bret. Didn’t even give him time to do his last coach show!

  26. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

And then the KO return? What the crap?? Well, what else can happen?

  27. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Wow, 49-42 UCF! The ESPN ticker has the game at 42-34.

  28. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

….Central Florida will hang on, most likely. Recovered a fumble with 39 seconds left, and South Florida only has two timeouts left. Unless a colossal mistake is made, Central Florida will remain unbeaten.

  29. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Now, Auburn will have to survive an onslaught, if pundits are to be believed, with the Razorbacks coming after Gus Malzahn.

  30. ATL_AU_FAN ATL_AU_FAN says:

Personally, hoping Gus ignores the onslaught from Arky… I know it is “home” for him but still, Arky?? I am hoping not.

  31. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..Me too. Auburn basketball is putting the pop on Winthrop. Up 73-50, just under 15 minutes left in that one.

  32. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

    …..Tigers top Winthrop, 119-85.

  33. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..I did NOT appreciate the interim Arkansas being broadcast over the Auburn basketball game, and she more or less telegraphed that they were going after Gus Malzahn. This, on the night before the Iron Bowl. They couldn’t wait to fire Bielema, and start working on this. They are hoping it gets into Auburn’s heads, and distracts from the Iron Bowl. Thanks a lot!

  34. Acid Reign Acid Reign says:

…..I'm still fired up about the Arkansas brass and their garbage move. Even just leaving Auburn out of it, this was handled with an utter lack of class. It was senior night, and it has been a tough year in Fayetteville. Arkansas has lost back to back heart-breaker, last minute games. You think those players were disappointed and hurting? Of course they were.

…..Rather than let Bielema console them, and have some emotional goodbyes, they terminated him as soon as the game was over. Why on Earth couldn't they have waited till tomorrow, had a meeting, etc.? If I'm a recruit, I was just shown that the Arkansas administration doesn't give a flying __mn about its players!
