One of the most sought after running back recruits in the nation will announce his choice today, and Auburn is the perceived leader. Tank Bigsby, a four-star chipper from Hogansville, Ga. has over two dozen offers from the nation’s most elite programs, including Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, and Southern Cal. The No. 7 running back in the nation has told recruiters his final list consists of Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina.

Many see him as the kind of player that can make a difference on whatever team he decides to play for. Although he currently has Auburn in the lead, at one time he had South Carolina tops, and then switched to Georgia before making Auburn No. 1 in the last 10 days.

Frankly, this writer thinks it’s not a good omen to have the Tigers listed No. 1 since many of the blue chippers like to bring a shock value to their announcement press conference. Hopefully, he will not be playing the hat trick today.

Bigsby’s commitment announcement is scheduled for 4:30 CT via 11Alive.com at Callaway High School in Hogansville.

Stay tuned.

Update:
The No. 4 player in Georgia and No.7 nationally confirmed the prognosticators today by committing to the Tigers. This is a huge pickup for Gus Malzahn if he can hold on to him until the National Letters of Intent are signed.

Hope he announces Auburn but don't know about these guys. I'll believe it when I see it.
