Auburn Cracks Sports Illustrated Top 25

By on October 8th, 2013 in Football, News 1 Comment »

AU came in at number 23 in Andy Staples College Football Power Rankings.

His write up as to why is below:

Missouri’s turnaround is impressive, but Auburn’s is unbelievable. The Tigers were historically awful last year, and now they’re already competitive again. Auburn’s only loss is a non-blowout at LSU, and its season-opening win against Washington State looks decent given the Cougars improvement. Will Auburn compete for the SEC West title this year? Probably not. Is the day Auburn competes for that title again too far away? Not anymore, thanks to Gus Malzahn.

To be on any list of top teams is a long ways from where Auburn was at the end of last season.
