Auburn-Arkansas Stats

  1. Tiger on the mountain Tiger on the mountain says:

Wallace should be our starter. Seriously.

    • challenger10 says:

ToTM do you base that on anything other than he cannot do any worse?

      • Tiger on the mountain Tiger on the mountain says:

        Precisely. Unfortunately.

Moseley is not an option. Frazier is a great athlete and I think he has great potential, but pulling him at halftime for someone who did much worse (that score was lucky) and, then, not putting him back out there when Moseley was floundering, killed any progress he was making.

They burned Wallace’s redshirt, so they might as well use him for more than three plays a game. He looks pretty composed for those few plays-much more than Frazier did in that same position.

  2. Todd92 Todd92 says:

I actually thought that Frazier wasn’t playing nearly as bad and thought the coaches made a mistake pulling him. It’s not like changing the QB was going to make the OL block any better or make Loeffler call more power I plays.

    • Tiger on the mountain Tiger on the mountain says:

I agree. But I feel at this point that by pulling him at halftime, they have effectively made him 100% ineffective. His confidence was fragile as it was. Once I saw Moseley out on the field and Frazier on the sideline refusing to take off his helmet, I knew we were done.

  3. sparkey sparkey says:

How many carries did Mason get? He looked good every time he got the ball I thought.

    • Bren Dekura Bren Dekura says:

      Mike Blakely 7 38 5.4
      Tre Mason 6 32 5.3
      O McCalebb 7 24 3.4

    • Bren Dekura Bren Dekura says:

With them averaging over 5 yards per carry, it begs the question of why they weren’t running more? Hell we only throw it to Blake and Lutz and we have protection problems. Why not just line up in the I with Prosch blocking? It’ll keep our “playmakers” on the field with max protection and allow us to run. At this point, it can’t be any worse.

  4. wde1988 wde1988 says:

If your QB can’t throw completions… and we supposedly have all 4-star RB in the backfield…. why aren’t we running the ball?

And I don’t mean with a 170lb McCalleb up the middle

I mean using Mason, Blakely, or Grant. Go to the power I and put PROSH in front and run over the tackles….

If you get 9 yards a play… why in the world would you start throwing the ball in the first place???

    • wde1988 wde1988 says:

Chizik’s comments about AU needing a running identity… is laughable. I say that because I have heard that before from another famous AU coach…. Terry Bowden…. using Markeith Cooper (150lbs) and getting no where – and wondering why we couldn’t establish the run.
