Are You Ready for Some Football? – Here’s Opening Weekend Broadcast Schedule

By on August 31st, 2018 in Football, News 6 Comments »

After eight long months, we’re so ready for some football. And there is plenty on tap this first week of the 2018 college football season with games stretching from Thursday night through Labor Day on Monday. Saturday, the No. 9 Auburn Tigers face the No. 6 Washington Huskies in the Chik-fil-a Kickoff Classic in Atlanta.

Both teams rank among the nation’s best defenses but have a few question marks on offense. However, both have outstanding quarterbacks. The Dogs’ Jake Browning has thrown for 6,149 yards and 60 touchdowns the past two seasons while Jarrett Stidham has compiled 4,423 yards and 40 scores in a little less than a year and a half at Auburn and Baylor.

Washington’s Myles Gaskin is the current leading active career rusher in FBS with 4,055 yards. But the Tigers have a deep D-line led by Dontavious Russell, Derrick Brown, and edge rusher Marlon Davidson with Deshaun Davis captaining the backfield. The Auburn defense has been rated a top-3 unit by several preseason pundits. So this game could well come down to Auburn’s defensive front versus Washington’s offensive line. And of course the same  is true in reverse. Win it or lose it in the trenches.

With two of the best offensive-minded coaches in the business, this also could shape up to be, (to quote the late great Jim Fyffe) “A wild and wooly shootout” in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. So, are you ready for some football?

For your convenience we have listed below the TV broadcast schedule for all games for Friday through Monday for your College Football viewing guide. Game times are Central Daylight, and all SEC games as well as those involving top 25 teams are underlined.

No game has me more pumped than Auburn's. Let's go Tigers.

  5. Pine Mt Tiger Pine Mt Tiger says:

The Huskies have 75 % of their offensive production back from last season, a stout defense including 2 preseason All-American D-backs. Going to be a tough game.
But I believe the Tigers can do it. Got to get ahead and stay ahead.
    War Eagle!

I want to see this in person. I’m going up in the morning and hoping to score some tickets outside the stadium.
