Are You Ready Auburn Fan … It’s Almost Time!

By on August 28th, 2013 in Football 12 Comments »

Jordan-Hare will be rocking Saturday night!

Tuesday, Auburn Coach Gus Malzahn held his first ever ‘game week’ press conference and opened up with the words, “It’s Game Week!” Yes, after an off season that seemed to drag on forever, we’re finally here.

On Saturday thousands of Auburn fans will gather around radios, TV sets, and at sports bars to cheer the debut of Malzahn’s Tigers. Another 87,000 will have a family reunion at Jordan-Hare. In his game preview, the coach said it will be good to be back in the stadium with the Auburn fans.

While I know the coaches and players are ready for it to be game day … I believe the fans are more ready than I’ve seen in quite some time. I know this fan and his family have been laying plans all week for our first game day excursion of the 2013 season.

Being in the Loveliest Village on The Plains on game day is always special. There’s just nothing like game day at Auburn.

Of course, as with the start of any new season, there are questions yet to be answered. But right now those questions don’t matter. Because it’s time for Auburn Football.

And I’m ready.

I’m ready for tailgating with friends and family, ready for Tiger Walk, ready to watch the Eagle fly, ready for the roar of the crowd as the Auburn Band takes the field with the Drum Major spearing his baton in to the Pat Dye turf. I’m ready to sing “War Eagle” as the band marches down the field.

I’m ready to watch the pre game video, see the team’s picture flash on the jumbo-tron screen. And hear the decibel levels get dangerously high as the Tigers make their entrance under the adoring cheers of 87,000 Auburn faithful. I’m ready to hear the radio voices of Rod and Stan, and ready to hear Rod yell Touch down n n n n  Au burn n n n n !

So, this is the moment we all have been waiting for – for nine long months. In a little more than 72 hours, the long dark days of the off season will finally be over.

Auburn Football begins Saturday at 6 p.m. CT when the Tigers tee it up against Washington State. I can hardly contain myself. – I’m ready. How about you Auburn fan …

I will be in Virginia on Sat. Hope I can get the game somehow. If I don’t I might drive closer to home to see it. Anything to see what Gus is putting on the field for 2013

Well, I guess depending on your cable provider, you should be able to access via ESPN3 over your phone/tablet/laptop.

I have done that before. Not quite as good as my 50″ tv, but, it will do in a pinch 🙂

      War Eagle!!!!!

      • MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Not sure but I think we are pretty far back in the woods. I am hoping they have good broadband if I can’t get ESPNU. One silver lining is that I can listen to the Virginia Tech broadcast of the UAT game instead of Eli Gold. That guy is hard to listen to, he whines more than Bret.

  7. Third Generation Tiger Third Generation Tiger says:

I’m looking forward to seeing the product that Malzahn and Co. will put on Pat Dye Field come Saturday night. I don’t expect miracles. I do however expect better effort, better organization, and better gameday coaching than what we experienced last year. I also expect improvement form game to game.

For anyone who is keeping count, this will be the ninth consecutive year of my personal ban of all things espn. I urge all Auburn grads and fans to ignore that hypocritical, self serving, farce of a sports network.
