‘Tiger’ – the iconic golden eagle that stared the Auburn tradition of eagles flying free in Jordan-Hare Stadium, passed away today. Also known as War Eagle VI, she was 34 years old. Before retiring in 2007, Tiger had a successful 20 year career as part of Auburn football tradition.
The Tigers were 12-8 in Iron Bowl wins during her ride and she made world wide news for Auburn University in 2002 when she flew for the opening of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Below is a video depicting both her time on the Plains and of fans saying thank you to Tiger after her 2007 retirement.
She will forever be remembered “neath the sun-kissed sky” of the Loveliest Village on the Plains. Goodbye Tiger - Thank you and …
War Eagle forever!
