Tre Mason received more All-American awards today when he was named both an Associated Press and a CBS-Sports.com second-team All-American.
This time, members of his offensive line were also recognized as Tackle Greg Robinson and Center Reese Dismukes were named third team All-American by the AP. Robinson was also named second team all-American by Sports Illustrated and it was the second All-American team for Dismukes. In addition, Chris Davis made First Team CBS-Sports.com All American as a punt returner
Earlier this week, Davis was named to the Sporting News All-American team and Alex Kozan and Carl Lawson were named to Sporting News’ All-Freshman team.
Yesterday Gus Malzahn garnered his third National Coach of the year award when he was recognized as the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of America. Today the Auburn Head Coach received his fourth CotY award when he was named by CBS Sports.com as the Coach of the Year.
Mason’s two honors mark the fourth and fifth All-American teams that the Heisman finalist has made since the regular season ended – and all of the list are not out yet.
If Tre makes, the American Football Coaches Association and the Football Writers Association of America teams, he will be considered a consensus All-American.
