Auburn University announced today that Saturday’s game against the Ole Miss Rebels will be played at night. The Tigers and Rebels are scheduled to kick off on ESPNU at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
The television networks assigned four of this Saturday’s SEC games this morning. Besides Auburn’s home game, LSU will play at Mississippi State at 6 p.m. on ESPN, Florida and Arkansas will kickoff at 6 p.m. on ESPN2, and Georgia and Tennessee will be on CBS in the 2:00 p.m. slot.
Both the Tigers and the Rebels are 3-1 after Ole Miss suffered a loss to Alabama yesterday in Tuscaloosa. Which ever team wins this Saturday’s game should be in good position for garnering early post season attention from Bowl committees.
It’s widely known that Gus Malzahn and Mississippi Coach Hugh Freeze have a friendship that goes way back and are use to swapping trade secrets … but not this year as the two find themselves as SEC West opponents.
Freeze said this week, “I have great respect for Gus (but) next week I won’t think of him as a friend.” The feeling is probably mutual for Malzahn. Fans may be entertained with a high scoring game when the two HUNH’s square off this Saturday night in Jordan-Hare.
