Cougs Were There Two years Ago

Too bad that the Cougs did not win this game.  They had every right to….save one of two big plays and a stupid interception on 1st and goal….I guess all we fans can do is relish in the fact that we really are 1 year away from something….and that the Cougars from little Pullman, WA dominated the entire game.

I feel for you guys … Looks like another brutal year for you in the SEC.  Not being a jerk…I understand your pain.  But AU is bad … bad offense and bad defense …

The Cougs were there 2 years ago.

Well, lets play again next year then.

……We’ve been there, man. We’ve been TOTALLY better than other teams, other than watching guys turn the corner two or three times. And having a quarterback throw interceptions. Or having a very bad SEC ref crew make some awful non-calls.They missed some on the Cougars, too. I’d give it a +1 or +2 in Auburn’s favor this time on the refs, but I’d rather see a correctly called game.

…..Yeah, we have some tough games ahead. So do you folks in the PAC-12. Bottom line, either you win or you don’t. Excuses, robbery, unfairness, all that… No one else cares. Just make the throws, tackles,. calls… and win. We enjoyed having Mike Leach in the house. He’ll get things straight in Pullman. He’s a pretty interesting character, and one a lot of folks thought we should have hired a while back…

I’m sorry, did you really come to our site for support? I’m not really sure what you are looking for, but if you think that you are going to build your team up by running Auburn down, then that is just foolish…..mostly because you didn’t win.

If we’re a bad team….and I will readily admit that Auburn is far from good, then that makes WSU a team that couldn’t beat a very flawed Auburn team, starting several backups, freshmen and a JUCO QB making his first D1 start after being on campus for a couple of months…the really bad team.

Your team with a seasoned QB, made more mistakes and lost the game as a result. Moving the ball between the 20′s means nothing if you turn the ball over. That’s not dominance, it’s carelessness. You would be better served by congratulating Auburn on making the plays needed to win than saying, “We would have beaten you, if we didn’t screw up!” This is a game we can build on….the Cougs not so much.

    Obnoxious!

You say your not trying to be a jerk and then proceed to be one? Why don’t you go cry on a Cougar site where your comments might be welcomed.

I thought this was a joke post. Wut? Every game has turning points and lost plays. EVERY GAME. Someone has to win. Auburn did. Are you trying to say the refs gave us the game? Are you kidding? They were atrocious on BOTH sides. Nothing new for SEC refs. And if you think Auburn got home field advantage ~ SEC refs NEVER give us home field advantage. And SEC refs are not known to be the brightest in ANY games.

Some of their STATS might have dominated but in the end that doesn’t matter and they didn’t win the game. We enjoyed have the Cougs and their fans in our stadium. Great showing by your fans and great atmosphere. Thanks for coming and come again!!

I’m sorry, but domination requires winning in football. Our defense did exactly what they planned to do, let Leach throw alot without giving up big plays and wait for oppurtunities for turnovers. You just experienced the ol’ rope-a-dope!

p.s. you sound like an Updyke (look it up).

    @gocougs

I think that is called a moral victory. Something we used to claim all the time. Doesn’t change how it get chalked up on the schedule at the end of the year , though. If your qb could’ve averaged more than 5.5 yards per maybe the clock wouldn’t have run out on your victory. We did end up with SEC Def POW, but thanks for the win, I guess…?

  8. Third Generation Tiger Third Generation Tiger says:

Shocker. Another PAC 12 fan that doesn’t understand the game of football. I suppose if the field were shortened by 40 yards WSU may stood a chance of winning the game. NEWS FLASH! The field is 100 yards long! Moving the ball between the 20s means very little. There is a little thing called the GOAL LINE that must be crossed, or the GOAL POST that your kicker must kick the ball through in order to be awarded points. NEWS FLASH! Turnovers kill drives and momentum and can cause dramatic changes in field position. Your seasoned QB tossed three interceptions. This is not a good thing, it is in fact a BAD thing.

So the Cougs had “every right to win”? No team has a right to win anything. Either you outscore your opponent, or you do not outscore your opponent. The Cougs did not outscore their opponent, therefore they LOST the game.
