PGA Tournament Dufner watch

By Posted on: August 9th, 2013 in Member Post 18 Comments »

Jason Dufner is making a run at a course record today at Oak Hill CC in Rochester, NY. He is currently 6 under par through 13 holes. If he plays the rest even par he will tie the course record. He is now 8 under par and in sole possession of the lead. In 2011 he lost in a playoff in this same event to Keagan Bradley, and I have heard several War Eagles already from the gallery. I will post updates in the comments section if you are at all interested.

Jason Wins!

  1. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Jason has actually been sort of a slump so far this year. He has made enough birdies but in unDuf like fashion he has made too many bogeys. Strange for him since he led the tour last year in the least bogeys per round category. He definitely has it going today all started when he hit a 7 iron into the hole for an eagle 2 on the 2nd hole.

  2. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Three more pars on 16,17,18 to tie the course record. Come on Duf, one more birdie!!

  3. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Got it!!!! A birdie on 16. 2 holes left to hold the course record and a 2 shot lead in the tournament. One more birdie and the all time low round in a major championship belongs to an Auburn man, Keep it going Jason!!

  4. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Par on 17, burning the lip with his birdie putt, hit the fairway on 18. He needs a birdie to break and hold the major championship record with a 62. War Eagle Jason, hit it close!!

  5. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Only a par on 18 but he ties the all time major championship low round and now owns the course record at Oak Hill CC. Way to go Jason. War Eagle. Look for lots of Jason on ESPN tonight, and on the front page of sports pages. I will continue this post on the sidebar until Sunday. If he is in the hunt for the win, it will be front page news on TET.

  6. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

The Duf is heading (actually strolling) to the first tee beginning the day with a 2 shot lead. I swear his heartbeat must be around 50 instead of 150 like mine would be.
I am watching and will post when he does something special.
Just thought of something, hey Acid, is the first golf play by play in TET history?

  7. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Sure is great to hear the first tee announcer say, “First on the tee from Auburn, Alabama…Jason Dufner”

  8. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Two solid pars to start off, looks in good rhythm, can’t tell about nerves but you never can.

  9. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

9 of 10 of the leaders in the tournament are over par for today. The only one not over par, the Duf. Playing steady golf on a tough day at Oak Hill.

  10. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

First mistake, blocked tee shot into the water on #5 leads to double bogey, but he still is in the lead by one. Let’s see if he can come back after a bad hole.

  11. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Solid par on 6 and a birdie on 7 keeps him in the lead at 8 under, Nice comeback from a bad hole. Sill no expression change, same face for a birdie and a double bogey. If he is nervous it never shows.

  12. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Looks like Jason has nerves after all. He sure does look like he is showing the first sign of tightness. An ugly 3 putt at 8 for bogey. His par putt was no more than 3 feet and he really jabbed at it.

  13. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Holding it together, birdie, par on 11 and 12, 10 footer for birdie on 11 after a 308 yd dr and a 77 yard sand wedge. I can hit it 308 but it takes me two swings to get it that far.

  14. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

Jason still 1 over for the day and one behind Furyk. He is still in this. See you later in the evening.

  15. MyAuburn MyAuburn says:

I was too engrossed watching to post anything during the tourney. The Duf does it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    War Eagle.

My post on the tourney will be Tuesday.

  16. Todd92 Todd92 says:

Awesome stuff! War Damn Eagle Duf!

And might I add that Mrs. Duf is smokin hot… Holy cow talking about out kicking the coverage…

  17. scooter4au says:

Way to go Duf! I have to admit that I was almost as nervous watching Sunday as I am watching AU/Bama football. You make us proud and I wish you continued success.
