War Eagle, everybody! It’s gameday once again! It’s the 8th weekend of college footall, and today the Auburn Tigers host the Texas A&M Aggies. It should be a brisk, breezy evening for this one, with a nearly full moon perhaps peeking out through mostly cloudy skies during the game. It’s military appreciation day on the Plains, and servicemen and women from both schools will be honored. This one will be televised on ESPN-U.
This game is one we’ve been dreading, because Auburn seemingly has lots of matchup problems on both sides of the ball. An under-achieving front seven on defense must somehow contain a ridiculously strong offensive line, and the fastest quarterback in college football. And the Auburn offense for the first time all season will have to find a way to sustain drives, eat the clock up, and score touchdowns. It’s a tall order, for this team.
As always, feel free to chime in and sound off on this thread! I think most of our staff will be at this game, trying to help our Tigers pull out a win. It’s Saturday primetime once again at Jordan Hare, where miracles happen. War Eagle, and let’s beat Texas A&M!
I’m with you, when it seems like we have the least chance to win we perform a miracle at night in Jordan hair. Lets go Tiger fans, rock it out tonight, add some magic, and cheer our guys to victory! I’m trying hard to get excited. I keep thinking maybe this is the week we internally pull the plug on Loeffler and let another assistant call plays. Let mason and Coates step up and lead. Keep calling their #s and as their stats and confidence rise so will the play of their teammates. If we are are going to win Jordan hare must be on fire and stay on fire tonight. That means both sides of the ball have to produce and keep the crowd in it! Bow ya neck men. It’s time to make a stand. Believe in Auburn and love it. The rest will take care of itself.

I think they are trying as hard as they can. The fundamentals are just so poor and the schemes are not any better.
I do not remember ever seeing this poor a performance. tamu 42 AU 7 we have given up 460 yards of offense in the first half
This is without a doubt the worst Auburn game ever.
Wow. This is going to be the most crushing defeat in Jordan-Hare history. A&M could score 100 if they tried. Very sad. I really feel for that locker room at halftime – what could anyone possibly say. I was on the “one more year” side of the fence but this is truly beyond embarrassing.

They aren’t very good. Georgia, Bama, and, possibly Alabama A&M, should win against this team.

I’ve been asking that question about Holland since his first snap. The guy is a nice addition to wasted space. The linebackers in general just aren’t good at playing that position.

Half empty stands, booing, and the web on fire with calls for mass firings should send the message.

I just got home from that debacle. I don’t know where to start. I think I’m going to sell my UGA tickets. I am seriously considering not ordering season tickets next year, after making that purchase since 1984. I can’t take this anymore.
Those are the actions required to bring about change.
A most disappointing evening…..
…..I tried to kind of downplay it, but I had a bad feeling about their O-line against our pretty average D-line going in. Don’t know if it showed up on TV, but we got seriously butt-whipped up front by their O line. They were tight! We’d try to help our guys by lining up linebackers to help blitz. Their freshman QB would see it, and check to a dive up the gut, for 20 or 30 yards. Over and over.
…..I’ll look forward to seeing how Saban’s D does against them. Are they that good, or are we just that bad? Grades and photos up tomorrow.
Well an early answer to that question is…Lsu’s D shut them down & it looks pretty clear bama’s D is better, so the answer is pretty evident to me. Plus, bama has them at home.
On another note, the magic is gone boys.
It was obvious on TV that our D line was manhandled. Did Wallace look as good in person as on TV. I thought his passing reads were for the most part correct. All of his throws were crisp and accurate except for one over throw. The best thing I say was he avoided the rush a couple of times but kept his eyes downfield and made the correct throw.

I suppose Chizik will say that Auburn had a good week of practice after this loss. Chizik is breaking some records in a negative way. This was the worst defensive performance in Auburn history.
Hate to say it but effort by the players was not there. Individual effort by Wallace, Uzomah, Mason, and Blake was good. ALL other players looked uninterested in playing. We have ZERO defensive leadership. PERIOD. Coaching has been a problem all year…but last night was a player effort issue.
