Despite coming off a shortened 2012 season due to an injury just after the first 15 games last year, Auburn junior Morgan Estell has been named to the 2013 All-Southeastern Conference Softball Preseason Team.
At the time of the injury, Estell was hitting a team-best .432 with four doubles, 11 RBI and 17 runs scored. She earned Freshman All-SEC in 2011 after hitting a team best.389 with 18 doubles, six home runs and 30 RBI.
Auburn softball Coach, Tina Deese said, “I am very excited for Morgan to earn this recognition. She has always represented her team well. Morgan is a highly driven ballplayer with a tremendous work ethic. I believe this will be a motivator for her to work even harder.”
Congratulations Morgan. We look forward to watching you have another great year.
The Auburn softball team will open the 2013 season by hosting the Plainsman Invitational tournament Feb. 8-10 at Jane B. Moore Field.
