I know James Willis had the issues with domestic violence while at Texas Tech and
chose to seek others career options, but what is he doing now? He seemed to be one
very good Linebackers Coach and recruiter in the Mobile area. If he has his issues
under control, would he not be another good one to bring home? Yes, I know he
left us for the enemy, but everyone makes mistakes and he did progress to
Defensive Coordinator at Texas Tech under Tubbs.
……Willis was actually charged with domestic violence, pled guilty, and was sentenced to six months probation. The interesting thing is that when Tuberville was asked about Willis’ dismissal, he said it had nothing to do with the assault charge. Hmmmm. I think Willis is now coaching for Hartford’s UFL team.
