Auburn president Jay Gogue, after being seemingly placed in the witness protection program for most of the football season, issued a statement today about the football program that said absolutely nothing. The aimless statement posted on the school website was four paragraphs long and made no mention of football coach Gene Chizik.Gogue did encourage fans Continue Story…

6674860- Still Our Tigers

Should Auburn have switched offensive styles in 2012? Should Gene Chizik have tried to get Barrett Trotter to return? Trading Places??? It wasn’t long before I could take the pulse of the Auburn crowd in Vanderbilt stadium early Saturday afternoon. Barfield Redux?

I started writing this after the Arkansas game, with a plan to finalize it after a week or two would either confirm or evaporate my fears and suspicions–and confirmed they are. First off, I know that myself and others in the Auburn blogosphere often use the phrase “the Barfield era” with a heapin’ helpin’ of Continue Story…

It Will Take More Than a Coach to Fix Auburn

Debating the future of Gene Chizik is futile at this point. Agree or not, he’s done following the Iron Bowl on November 24th. But then what?Do Auburn officials really believe they can land a coach capable of competing with Nick Saban under the present leadership structure in the athletic department?Noted leadership expert John Maxwell often Continue Story…

Moseley will be sacked again.      War Eagle, everybody. It’s time now for the Acid Reign report, on Auburn disappointing 17-13 loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores. There were a few signs of life in this game, particularly on defense, but in the end, Auburn was unable to take this game away from a mistake-prone Commodore Continue Story…
