Auburn Freshman Has The ‘It’ Factor

It was just two days before he was to sign a national letter of intent to play football for Central of Florida when the high school quarterback received a visit from Auburn’s new Offensive Coordinator, Scott Loeffler.
The 4 star recruit from Central High in Phenix City had attracted Loeffler’s attention with a stellar senior year that included passing for 1,761 yards, running for 891 yards, and scoring 40 touchdowns.
Selected to play in the Alabama – Mississippi All-Star game, he was ranked by 24/7 Sports as the 16th best dual-threat quarterback in the country.
Almost at the last moment, and after his visit with Loeffler, Jonathan Wallace signed to be an Auburn Tiger.
Ever since he arrived on campus, Jonathan has not been under any delusions. He knew he would most likely be on the bottom of the depth chart behind Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier … and that’s where he has labored all summer.
Yet, if his coaches and his team mates are to be believed, that’s not where this talented freshman will spend his college career. No one has worked any harder than Jonathan in practice, in the weight room, or in studying the play book.
Kiehl Frazier says that he can tell that Wallace is a hard worker and a guy with maturity and leadership ability. Coach Chizik says Jonathan has really impressed everyone in pre season camp.
But the best praise comes from his Offensive Coordinator, Scott Loeffler, who said, “I really like him …
He’s got tremendous ‘it’ factor, he’s a winner.”
